It measures the forces that your fruit experiences as it travels through your handling system — every impact, every drop, every contact event across 60 sensors simultaneously. It also captures orientation data so you can see exactly where on the apple each force was applied. The data is recorded in sync with a video of the run, so you can watch exactly what happened at any moment.

Most packhouses assess damage part way through their line by way of a sorter. Sorting itechnology works best at identifying  bruises that have developed over the last 24 hours. This alerts you damage has occurred, but not where or why. RealAppleIQ™ tells you the exact point on the line where each damaging force happened, how severe it was, and whether it was enough to produce an out-of-grade bruise for the specific fruit you’re running that day.

RealBruiseIQ™ measures the bruise susceptibility of your actual fruit — the specific variety, size, and maturity you’re handling. Without this data, you know which forces occurred but not which ones actually caused bruising. With it, every force event in a RealAppleIQ™ run is assessed against the real bruise threshold for your fruit. For most commercial operations, the combination of both instruments gives you the complete picture.

A session takes as long as it takes your fruit to travel the section of the line being measured. Most runs are completed in minutes. The instrument travels the line, data is captured automatically, and the full analysis is available in RealDataIQ™ immediately after the session ends.

Run data is encrypted before it leaves your primary laptop and is stored on Real Instruments Limited’s secure server. Only users with your license credentials can access your data. You control exactly which runs are shared and with whom. Real Instruments Limited staff access is limited to our Chief Technology Officer for technical support purposes only.

Yes. Sub-licenses allow you to share selected runs with a third party — a machinery supplier, a supermarket technical team, or a consultant. You choose exactly which runs they can access, for how long, and how many times they can view them. They receive a software installer and a link. You remain in full control.

Your data remains archived on the Real Instruments Limited server. It is not deleted. Your primary laptop retains all locally stored data regardless. We strongly recommend maintaining your own backup of all data and video on the primary laptop — the server copy is not a backup service.

The RealAppleIQ™ is designed for commercial packhouse use. It is waterproof to 1 meter for 10 minutes in clean fresh water, rated for water flumes, and built to withstand the full range of normal handling conditions. Its drop limit mirrors that of a real apple — if a real apple would survive the drop, the instrument will too. If a real apple wouldn’t, neither will the instrument.
